Ministra on its own server

Ministra can run on a server of its own, installed and updated from your Mintrix. Mintrix never logs in to that server: it gives you a command to run there once, and an agent there then checks in with Mintrix every minute. No port needs to be opened on the Ministra server.

Install

1. In Mintrix, Settings > Ministra, Install Ministra on another server: copy the command. It holds your Mintrix's address and its Inbound API Key:

   curl -fsSL https://<your Mintrix domain>/ministra/install.sh | sudo sh -s -- --key <inbound key>

2. Run it as root on the Ministra server (Linux, x86-64). It installs Docker when missing, then the newest Ministra release into /opt/ministra, with a download login it gets from your Mintrix (checked against the key and your licence).

3. At the end it prints Ministra's address and REST API login: enter them in Mintrix under Settings > Ministra.

The installer also sets up ministra-update and the agent, ministra-agent, which runs every minute.

The Inbound API Key

The key lets the installer and the agent in. Creating a new key in Settings > Ministra cuts the old one off: the agent stops until the new key is set on the Ministra server.

Update

Settings > Ministra > Update updates a Ministra on another server as one on Mintrix's own: Update now, or Schedule for a set time. The agent starts it at its next check-in, within a minute, and reports its progress to the tab:

1. Download the new release;
2. Database backup (the three newest backups are kept);
3. Start the new version. If it does not start, the previous version and its database are put back.

The installer stops before anything changes when the disk is too full for the new release or the backup.

On the Ministra server, sudo ministra-update does the same by hand, and running the install command again updates too.

The agent has not checked in

The tab says when the Ministra server last checked in, and warns when the agent is not running. A server installed before the agent existed needs sudo ministra-update run there once: it updates Ministra and sets up the agent.

While your licence is not valid

No Ministra install or update starts: the download login comes with your licence. What runs keeps running.
