Updating boxes

Mintrix's MAG app is updated from the panel, like Mintrix and Ministra: Settings > System Update, the Set-top box app card.

The card shows:

• the version boxes get now;
• the newest version this Mintrix can serve, on its update channel (stable or beta), with what changed;
• the progress and the log of an update.

Update now, or at a set time. Mintrix checks for new versions every day, and on Check now.

What happens

1. Mintrix downloads the new version and keeps it beside the one boxes get. Nothing restarts.
2. Boxes check in every minute. A box on another version than Mintrix's loads the new one the next time it is on Home and nothing plays: never in the middle of a film or while signing in.

So viewers get the new app within a minute or two, without restarting their box.

Back to the version before

While the previous version is kept, Back to version switches boxes to it again. The app has no data of its own, so going back is safe. Mintrix keeps the three newest versions.

Which versions are offered

• Only versions this Mintrix can serve: a newer app may need a newer Mintrix, and the card then says which ("needs Mintrix … or newer"). Update Mintrix first.
• "This server's updater cannot update the app yet": update Mintrix once, which installs the newer updater.
• Updating Mintrix never puts back an older app than the one boxes get.
• One update runs at a time: Mintrix's, Ministra's or the app's.
