Catch-up and recordings

A channel with catch-up hours is recorded, in files of about 10 seconds, and each file is deleted once it is older than those hours. Only the channel's own picture is recorded, not its qualities.

Catch-up has Flussonic's link shapes, so Ministra's flussonic_dvr catch-up type builds them from the live address, with the same token:

LinkPlays
/{slug}/index-{start}-{duration}.m3u8A stretch from start (Unix seconds) for duration seconds, such as a programme from the guide
/{slug}/timeshift_abs-{start}.m3u8From start on, growing towards live

A token signed for /{slug}/ plays live and catch-up alike. A gap in the recording is marked in the playlist, so players skip it. See Play addresses.

The Recordings page

Recordings lists every channel that records, with the hours kept, the files, the disk used and any gaps, and the folders of removed channels until they are cleaned up. Admins and operators can delete a channel's recordings at once.

Recordings are pruned every 10 minutes. A removed channel's folder, or one left by a changed path, goes 24 hours after its last file. The file being written is never touched.

Where recordings are kept

In a Docker volume, unless FLOWTRIX_RECORDINGS in .env names a folder on the host, such as a disk of its own. See Settings.
